Sustainability in the Theatre and Live Event Production

"The Greening of the Great White Way" by Richard Cadena - Protocol magazine columnist Richard Cadena writes in Shadow, Light, & Truth about the Broadway Green Alliance and how they are helping the theatre community build sustainable practices.

Mike Biddle: We Can Recycle Plastic -  Less than 10% of plastic trash is recycled -- compared to almost 90% of metals -- because of the massively complicated problem of finding and sorting the different kinds. Frustrated by this waste, Mike Biddle has developed a cheap and incredibly energy efficient plant that can, and does, recycle any kind of plastic.

Support the Broadway Green Alliance - The Broadway Green Alliance (BGA) educates, motivates, and inspires the entire theatre community and its patrons to implement environmentally friendlier practices.

The 2030 Challenge - Buildings are the major source of global demand for energy and materials that produce by-product greenhouse gases (GHG). The 2030 Challenge aims to reduce fossil fuel consumption to the point where buildings are carbon-neutral by 2030.
